I ordered it through amazon.com, but if you do search for "Pilot rolling cane" you can find quite a few websites to order (not here to advertise for any one company!)

I just wanted to share this for anyone not quite mentally ready to use a walker... I have found this to be a great compromise between cane and walker or rollator. I am 35 and not quite ready to move to using a rollator full time, but this is much more maneuverable than a cane (at least for me).

As an ataxian, worrying about placement of a cane is usually more of a hindrance than a help to me anyway.

Just an idea, but it has provided me much greater stability without having to resort to a walker or rollator yet. I've had it for about a year, it took a little bit to get used to, but now I love it. Less bulky too. Great for travel-I get wheelchair assistance at airports, but I can just carry this right with me.

I do use a rollator though in snow or rough terrain, and don't necessarily recommend for anyone who already relies on a rollator or someone who truly needs more stability that a rollator or walker provides. I put some heavy padlocks on it to give it stability and gives me a better awareness if there is uneven ground.

Most insurance will only reimburse for the cost of a regular cane though and require that it be ordered from a medical supply store which doubles the price. For me anyway-I have found this to be the best $70 I have probably spent.~Olivia~

I use a 3 wheel winnie light and I love it. It can be made narrow in tight spaces very easily. It gives me all the support I need. I bought the steel frame version works better for me.http://www.activeforever.com type in 3 wheel winnie light

There are some great products these days that assist with mobility but are sort of a step between unassisted walking vs a walker or wheelchair. I am really glad I have done some research because my mom really saw it as all or nothing, but it doesn't have to be that way!~Olivia~
