Safety, Empowerment, and Dignity: Improving the Airport Journey of Customers Using Wheelchairs
InterVISTAS is currently collaborating with Indiana University – Bloomington (IUB) to collect information on the air travel experiences of people with disabilities. This project strives to identify ways to enhance the air travel experiences of individuals using wheelchairs. Our goal is to learn from their experiences using airport and airline services through an online survey.

What does participation in the study entail?
Participation in this online survey is completely voluntary, and participants may withdraw at any time without penalty. The survey takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete. All information provide will be kept confidential by Indiana University and InterVISTAS. Data will be analyzed in aggregate, and no personally identifiable information will appear in reports or publications.
What are the potential benefits or risk for participants?
The results of this study will help improve the travel experience of individuals who use wheelchairs. Risk is minimum. Survey participants may feel tired when completing the online survey.
Who is eligible?
People who are 18 years and older, residing in the U.S., and using a wheelchair when traveling.
