Yes. They do not accept donors who have infectious diseases (bacteria, virus) or have had traumatic injury to the brain

Tissues donated to this brain bank are restricted for neurodegenerative disease research

Fees
No fees to the family.  Procedure and transportation fees are all covered by MUSC Brain Bank.

MUSC includes a pathology report which is sent to the family.
