Let’s Talk: Pursuing Intimate Relationships series

Kathy O’Connell, leads this supportive-style group focused on building confidence and developing skills for intimate relationships and dating while living with ataxia. Through open discussion and peer connection, participants will explore topics such as building self-confidence for dating, reading social cues and body language, effective communication, online dating safety, managing rejection with resilience, understanding consent and boundaries, planning first dates, responding to harassment, and creating a dating profile. This group provides a welcoming environment where participants can share experiences, learn practical strategies, and connect with others navigating similar relationship journeys.

Kathy O’Connell, is a leading advocate for helping people with disabilities create healthy romantic relationships. She addresses “Sexual Ableism through Relatability, LLC, providing training, curriculums, and consulting to disability services professionals. She offers individual coaching in dating and relationships and facilitated a membership for people wanting to enhance their dating skills. Kathy is currently working on a book about rising above sexual ableism to attract healthy and living relationships.
