I was diagnosed ataxia in October 2021 at 60 years old
The ataxia I am impacted is SCA2
This ataxia is well known in my family since several family members and also my father were impacted by this disease
When the analysis confirmed ataxia SCA2,I stopped working
My physical fitness at the time was not very good
I discovered the importance of adapted sport when I made my first recovery session in the specialized hospital of Hendaye (south west of France)
For now almost 3 years, I used to have per week 2 sessions of physiotherapist, 2 sessions of speech therapist, 3 sessions of adapted sport with a coach coming at home
My physical fitness recovered
Honestly, I am in a better shape than 3 years ago
I can consider than the ataxia is stable
