I am pleased to share some exciting news with you. I am a 67-year-old woman with a diagnosis of SCA8, and for the first time in a long time, I feel incredibly optimistic—I truly believe I have turned things around. Each morning, I begin with a one-mile walk followed by a 30- to 45-minute strength training session. This daily routine has made a remarkable difference in my mobility. Not long ago, walking straight without difficulty was a challenge, but today, no one would ever guess that I live with Ataxia. My progress feels nothing short of remarkable, and I am convinced that fitness is a powerful tool in the fight against this debilitating disease. I wanted to share this with you because I believe it demonstrates the potential for exercise and determination to truly change outcomes.
