Bev Schmutz

Hi! I was diagnosed in 2010. I worked for a well known insurance carrier. I had breast cancer in 2008 and received Chemo therapy, radiation and Herceptin. The docs are not sure why I have this, but they think the treatment I received may be the problem. It does run in my family. It caused my motor skills to be attacked.

My kids at first thought Mom was drinking. No. My speech is slurred. My gait is terrible and my balance is horrible! It can be a challenge, but it is what it is. It now affected my facial appearance. I know my limitations. I need to meet other folks who are dealing with this. I use to be very vocal and had a great personality.

People seem to misunderstand me and think I’m not happy. I am! I have three kids and 3 step kids. I’m a Mom, a Grandma and Great Grandma.,

When Were You Diagnosed? Which Type (If Known)?
